A retired school teacher/coach, principal and superintendent, Ron spent
his entire career in education in Springfield, Colorado.
Since retiring from education, he has worked as a marketing director,
interim counselor, newspaper sports writer and radio sports announcer.
Ron made his speaking career debut in 1983 at the Springfield High School
graduation. Since then, Ron has spoken at graduations all over Southeastern
Colorado and beyond as well as state conferences, leadership workshops, fund
raisers and various and sundry awards banquets.
Humor is a staple of Ron’s delivery and his goal is to entertain as
well as educate (You can take the teacher out of the classroom but can you take
the need to
educate out of the teacher??) Ron has also been active in his community having served on the 15th Colorado Judicial VALE Board, the Lamar Community College Foundation Board, Chaired the Springfield Lions Club Christmas Toy Drive, and is currently serving as a Board Member to the Arkansas River Power Authority. His wife of 31 years is Pam Masterson, a first grade teacher in Springfield, Colorado and 2006 finalist for the Colorado Teacher of the Year. They have 2 grown children and 2 grandchildren.
We thank Ron for his humor and insights that both entertained and educated
us. It was a wonderful day and we appreciated his contributions to the
GALA!
