Nurturing Parent Program
This is an evidence based parenting curriculum involving both the parents and the children. Due to the resources and time commitment necessary it is limited to a certain number of families.
Nurturing Parent Classes
Nurturing Parent classes are a very intense, 16 week program involving both parents and their children in classes, activities, and usually an evening meal. Because of the number of staff needed, the length of the classes, and the cost of the program, Baby Bear Hugs has elected to hold 2 classes per year, rotating among the counties we serve.
Topics for the Nurturing Parent classes are as follows:
Week 1: Orientation and Assessment, Pre AAPI
Week 2: Nurturing as a Lifestyle and Brain Development
Week 3: Nurturing Parenting Expectations and Development
Week 4: Ages and Stages: Your child’s Development
Week 5: Developing Empathy. Parents and Children’s Needs
Week 6: Recognizing and Understanding Feelings
Week 7: Spoiling Children. Improving Children’s Self-worth and Building Personal Power
