Positions At A Glance:

  • Parenting Educator

    Overview
    A dedicated person to support families with education, encouragement, and connections to local resources. This role is relationship-based and focused on strengthening families through home visits and curriculum-based learning.

    What you’ll do

    • Meet with families in their homes to provide education and connect them to community resources

    • Support parents in developing effective parenting skills and strategies

    • Educate families on physical and emotional child development

    • Deliver curriculum-based programming that promotes warm, trusting, and caring home environments

    • Maintain accurate records of family interactions and progress

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    • One year of experience working with children and families (examples: child care provider, parent, daycare worker, preschool educator)

    • Knowledge of child development and willingness to learn about community resources

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    • Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism

    • Writing and computer skills sufficient to communicate with staff and clients

    • Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation

  • A detail-oriented person to support program operations, team leadership, and community outreach. If you’re organized, enjoy meeting people, and want to promote programs that strengthen communities, this role could be a great fit.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead and supervise a team of Parenting Educators delivering curriculum-based programs in family homes

    • Educate and inform agencies, organizations, and the public about Baby Bear Hugs programs

    • Coordinate office activities and operations to support efficiency and compliance with policies

    • Plan and organize events (meetings, community outreach, and fundraisers)

    • Demonstrate passion and understanding of child development, parenting education, and early childhood

    • Communicate efficiently using technology and the written word

    • Travel to meetings, outreach opportunities, and fundraising events

    Requirements

    • Proven work experience as a Coordinator or in a similar role

    • Associate of Arts degree preferred

    • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask

    • Excellent team management abilities

    • Exceptional communication skills

    • Reliable, insured transportation and a valid driver’s license

    About the program
    Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) is an evidence-based home visitation program for first-time parents. Nurse home visitation begins during pregnancy and continues until the child is two years old.

    From the moment you meet a first-time parent, a remarkable transformation begins. Your guidance empowers parents to have healthier pregnancies and care for their child with confidence. You’ll have the opportunity to build lasting relationships and see the impact of your work over time—improving pregnancy outcomes, child health and development, and family self-sufficiency.

    Must have

    • Current Colorado RN license

    • CPR certification

    • Up-to-date immunizations
